I love French. I don't like the way it's taught (my current teacher is convinced that grades don't matter as long as you learn something, when, in fact, grades do matter. A LOT).

But I really like learning French, the language is so much more fluid than English...

You guys are lucky. The HS I went to was small that they didn't offer the languages that I were interested in. Small town = only one HS. :|

I took spanish classes, nothing against the language, but because of where I live, all the dumb people take spanish (<--- I'm not included). But that's fine, because I ace everything, so I was like the teacher's favorite (he was weird but cool at the same time), which was cool, cuz he'd let me chill more often in class.

Oh my... Foreign Language classes in my High School were... well... let's begin with that I had 2 foreign languages: English(starting 1st grade till graduation) and German(Middle School only).
In primary school English was excellent. Im Middle School...at least 5 teachers changed. The same problem was in the High School as well...and I almost ended up without knowing English at all, but when I was in 6th grade my mom accidently met my English teacher from Primary School(she teaches from primary till graduation) and asked her to give me private lessons. Only thanks to this amazing woman(whom I whole heartedly respect and love) I know English T_T
As for German... it was even worse... German teachers also changed often... and they had no desire to teach us at all... T_T Or should I say, all but one old lady... (she was the last teacher of German before it course ended) but, well, to the moment she came, I completely lost all my interest in Deutsch, so I just was chatting with my friend and got excellent marks only because i studied it before myself...

And now in University... fate decided to give me another chance to sudy German... I remember, when I got to know that I was put in the German group I was crying all my vacation, because to that moment I already hated it more than anything T_T but to the 2nd semester my attitude completely changed thanks to awesome Professor, who treats us strict but good ^_^ through her love to German we also came to love it ^_^

And as for English in Unversity... well... I knew English better before.... even in my Middle School... I lost all my knoweledge base thanks to crazy bitchy teacher who pissed us all T_T I skipped as much her classes as I could T_T It was the worst English I've ever had T_T

And recen;ty I took Japanese classes Love Oh, our Professor is cool ^_^ we all love him dearly ^_^ but Japanese is difficult for me T_T All this strange construction just won't go into my head T_T even though I like it so much T_T

edit: Oh my...that's quite an essay T_T I wonder if anyone will dare to read my rants <_<

I would love to learn japanese or chinese when i have free time.... I heard it is not easy, so i'm looking for real teachers or real places where collective lessons are given with a cheap price. My one and only motive is of course to understand mangas and manhua XD

I'm currently taking spanish in high school and I honestly think it's wayy to easy. The teacher is being too easy on us because the (no offense) dumb kids are too slow, and failing. my spanish teacher gives out tons of extra credits so people won't fail her class. -_-

From experience, I believe that the french teachers are the wackiest teachers of all and I really feel sorry for them to hear students pronounce their language wrong on a daily basis, they are brave souls indeed...

I'm taking Japanese right now, this will be my 5th year. Foreign Language classes 986947 the teacher I have now is a pure slave driver, we have a test every single other time we meet up for class and the homework is about 8 pages long. Sure I admire her for challenging us but theres a limit to how much you can give students!!!!

I took Spanish for 3 years~~ I've decided to stop because if I continued with Spanish then that meant that I would have taken AP Spanish Literature.< -- I know I cannot analyze spanish literature when I cannot even analyze english literature well. XD I would like to take German, but unfortunately for me, I would not be doing so T_T I need to take ART T_T And later on in the near future, I hope that I can learn another language, like french or arabian or something..

I took spanish and french before, but I got to say that they need more foreign language classes. The only ones you can actually take at my school is French, Spanish, and Latin. Other than that, if you want to take others, than you need to be in an online class, which doesn't really help.

Ah, I wish I could continue taking Japanese. It's rusty from not being used.

School-taught foreign language classes don't really work for me. I like private foreign language classes.
