I do not know how to cook. The only thing that I do know how to do is heat things up and boil. Does anybody know of a really good beginner cookbook that can teach me how to make some simple meals so that I can go off and live by myself without starving or going broke because of eating out all the time? :o

Hm... good beginner cookbooks...

I have some old ones, but i think any cookbook that doesn't say "gourmet" will do. Most cookbooks have basic recipies, and they say exactly how to cook it. Light and Easy Menus from Cooking Light might be good, I'm not to sure.

Taste of Home is an excellent magazine and cookbook series!! A new one comes out each year and contains all the recipes and how-to's from the magazine.

And new this year are two cookbooks that have the best and most popular recipes from the past 10 years. They are called:

The Taste of Home Cookbook and
The Taste of Home Baking Book

Both are excellent and I highly recommend them!!!!!!!!!!!
They both thoroughly cover all the basics and have lots of pictures to help you! And all the recipes are proven and taste great!
I found them at Wal-Mart for about $20 each, but you could find them at any bookstore.
