How many languages can you speak/read/understand/write?

Wow ^_^ there're so many polyglots O_O awesome ^_^ :P

As for me:
I can speak: Russian, English, German, a bit of Italian and Japanese
I can read: Russian, English, German; Italian and a bit of Japanese
I can understand: Russian, English, German, Ukrainian and Belorussian(more or less, 'cause they're sister languages to Russian), a bit of Italian and Japanese
I can write: Russian, English, German, Ukrainian and Belorussian(more or less, 'cause they're sister languages to Russian), a bit of: Italian and Japanese

as for me, i just know how to speak english, chinese, a bit of vietnamese... a hint of japanese (most from which i pick up from anime and dramas :P)

I can only comprehensively read/speak/write - English

I can speak/write some Spanish, and I can read slightly more than that
but if you just dumped me where they only speak spanish I would barely know enough to get by and they would probally be laughing/frusterated with me

German (learned recently since I´m now live there)
Japanese (My grammar is a mess though since I only learned most of them from anime)

Chinese (mostly from my grandparents´ conversation, they always speak, even to me in Chinese, even though they know I cannot speak chinese at all since I cannot differ the intonation in that language)

Malay (since it´s quite similar to Indonesian, I have no difficulties in it)

I really like learning different languages xD one of my favorite things to pass time

I can speak/read/understand english and portuguese (which is my native language) and I can understand some of japanese...And that's about it. I hope I'll be learning italian soon *-*

As I can see, All of you seem to be very clever.
I can speak: Czech , English, Vietnamese and little French
I can write: only Czech and English, Vietnamese and French is not that good
I can read: Czech, English and French, but Vietnamese really sucks

To echo a lot of the other posters here, I'm impressed by how multilingual all the members are.

For me, I speak English and Mandarin and I can understand Shanghainese (and occasionally speak some). Apparently, I can speak Hindi/Korean/Japanese like a native if I'm fed lines.

I'm fluent in Cantonese and English, although I can't write or read well in Chinese. Languages that I've learn from classes are French and Spanish. I know some Japanese only because of anime. xD

Okay. After reading Simplicity5's post, I gotta agree. I am basicically the same. I can speak Cantonese and English, but I can't read or write Chinese--I wish I could. I also wish I could speak Mandarin. I can also speak and read a little French and Spanish.
